Our homebirth kit was supposed to come with an aquarium net for catching, um, stuff in the water during a tub birth. They forgot it, and since they are so cheap, we figured we'd just buy it instead of contacting the kit company and waiting around for them to send a new one. We needed to order more pet food online, so my H just ordered an aquarium net from the site...apparently without checking sizes!
It's huge! I think you could almost catch the baby in it! I don't know what else he thinks is going to come out of me, but hopefully nothing THAT large!
For reference, this pic shows a few sizes, including the standard small/medium we were supposed to get (meant for scooping up goldfish and such) and the huge one we actually have now (apparently meant for scooping catfish out of the river).
Hopefully my #2s never approach that size. I told him that when the MW sees it, she's going to turn around and go back home.
Re: Homebirth kit funny story.
I literally lol'd at this. Please try to show it to your midwife with a straight face and tell us how she reacts... It's gonna be awesome ;-)
SAHM to two sweet girls, both born at home; Baby #3 in 2013!
We went to the pet store to get a net, and DH insisted on an 8 inch one... he said if he was going to be chasing poos, he wanted it to be the least work possible. :P I don't think it's nearly as big as yours, though. LOL
