Aden and Anais Swaddling Blankets

Anyone have experience with these?  I remember them being all the rage when DS was a baby.  We had an A&A sleepsack and DS/I ripped that thing in 3 different places since it was so thin and stretchy.  Are the blankets that fragile too?  Just wondering since they are on babysteals today and I am tempted to get them.  TIA!

Re: Aden and Anais Swaddling Blankets

  • Last time they were on Baby Steals I remember the A&A users posted that Baby Steals doesn't sell the 'good' ones.  The sell smaller ones which the A&A users advised against.

I have no knowledge or opinion on it myself, just what I've read.

  • I hope they're good because I just bought a set of them from Amazon...

  • I had them with DS1 and LOVED them!  I bought mine at Target and have since given them as a hospital gift to everyone I know that has had a baby!  So far everyone I have given them to are still raving about them and using the blankets.
  • Three multiple-time mothers I know have recommended these, not just for swaddling, but as nursing covers, something to sit on at the park, lightweight blankets, etc. The rule of thumb that they all gave me is that the best quality ones are sold at Nordstrom (they also have designs that aren't available at other stores).

  • I love the A+A blankets.  We have a 4-pack and we used them all the time with DD1 and will again with DD2.  They are perfect for spring/summer babies as swaddling blankets and also to shade babies from the sun, and since they're thin, they scrunch up nicely to fit in the diaper bag.  One thing to note...it says you have to wash them in cold and dry on low, but it's not true.  They are fine if you throw them in with all the other baby clothes.  Another random fact, though, is that if you wash them with anything velcro (ie, baby bib), they will get really snagged so avoid that.  HTH

  • I bought the more expensive A&A swaddling blankets with my last baby and loved them. Never had any problems with tearing, etc. I still have one and it is in great condition. Too bad it's for the wrong gender ;)

  • They're great! They are bigger than average swaddling/receiving blankets so you get more use out of them when the baby is bigger. They are really soft and breathable fabric so when the baby is bigger if they like to have something nestled to their face when they're sleeping, it's safer. They are thinner but are sturdy, not fragile. :)
