Teething?

I think my baby may already be teething.  She is a little over 12 weeks.  She has been super fussy and drooling a lot.  The weirdest part is that there is a bump in her gums, but it is not the bottom 2 like it normally is...it is one of her vampire teeth!  I didn't even know it was possible to get these before the center and side teeth.  There is a very definite bump there, so I am assuming it is a tooth.

I don't think it is worth a dr visit, but has anyone else ever heard of this?

Re: Teething?

  • My brother had both of his vampire teeth come in before the others.  We made fun of him for years

  • Haha...yeah, I am thinking it will be pretty awesome if those are her first teeth:)  Yet, the all day fussing...not so awesome.  Good to know that it does happen!

  • My cousins daughter was born Dec 24 and when I saw her the other day my cousin was like 'Look at her teeth' -plural, as in more than one!!!! I couldn't believe it! She had 3 teeth along the bottom !! I thought that happens when they are like 6+ months old!
  • My nephew started teething around 3 months and he got his vampire fangs first. So cute!!
  • LO is drooling nonstop and sticking everything he can in his mouth. I think he might be teething.

Sophie is still too big for him to comfortably grasp.  Any ideas on early teething toys?

  • I think Declan is getting a tooth too, as he is usually a really good baby and he has been fussing a lot. I just bought a hazelwood necklace for him today.  Has anyone ever heard of them or had success?  Curious to know how they work, I'll keep you updated!

  • See, our DD has also been super spitty, constantly gnawing on her fists and sucking on her lips/tongue, and acting overly fussy out of no where, but my DH insists she's too young to be teething. I keep checking her gum line to see if I can see anything, but she isn't too keen on me checking so I haven't been able to definitively tell if anything is showing up. I've also heard pre-teething can go on for a while. Good to hear others are going through the same!

Ds has been fussy and drooling for a couple weeks now. I can see and feel a bump on his lower left so I definitely think he's teething. My mom said I had two bottom teeth by the time I was 6 months so I don't think it's too early. He's also constantly chewing on his fists and will lunge at your hands if you try to straighten his bib or go near his face. It's actually pretty funny, he moves really quick. Last night was the first time I finally gave him some orajel. I was reluctant because it said 4 months and up but he was so uncomfortable I said screw it. It seemed to really help and he went down for the night.

DD is also teething. Screaming, fussing, refusing to sleep, getting up at night again, drooling, chewing, the whole 9 yards. She loves to chew on fabric. Her bib, the edge of the sling (aka the only place she's happy in the evening), those random tiny stuffies that come with outfits.

LO is also chewing fabric.  I don't mind the blankets and burp cloths, because they are easy to wash.  But he discovered his car seat straps last weekend.  And now they just look nasty.
