  My son was breech at 37 weeks, so we schedculed the C section. I went in for my 38 week appointment and he had flipped.  However, two days later, I went into labor (after going to the hospital because I couldn't feel him move and they checked my cervix.)  They decided to just go ahead and start me on cervadil and then pitocin.  I labored for about 14 hours, with pitocin, but ended up with a c/s anyway due to fetal distress.

  My point: they probably won't kick you out, but may induce you since you'd be there already and so close to your due date.  GL!

  Thanks! If they sent me home, I am not sure how my Leave of Absence would work since they don't offically let me out until I deliver, so my last day is the day before my scheduled c-section. I would hate to have to go back to work! She is estimated at 7.5 lbs and has never flipped, so they really don't think she will. At this point, I have my mind in c-section mode, so I would prefer she just stay put so I don't have to think about Labor and Delivery at this point!

  I had a c/s for my breech baby.  However, on delivery day (39w, 1 day), I was told that if the u/s showed DS had flipped, the dr. would actually send me home!  Talk about mixed feelings!

  I was the exact same as you, had my mind already prepped for the scheduled section at 39 weeks and didn't want to have to change plans.  I did ask my doc what they would do if she had flipped when they checked me on the day.  Like the pp said, he advised they would actually send me home.  In my case, no flipping happened so I had the CS.  If your doc doesn't think LO will turn given size, then I wouldn't worry too much.  That is what mine said and sure enough LO did not turn.  GL!

  Thanks! I never thought I would 'hope' for a c-section, but my mind is set and a date is set so I keep telling her to stay put. She doesn't feel like she is going anywhere...lol...and she has never been in position at all.
