but, this morning he is 100% fine and has not even coughed once since he woke 3 hours ago.
I was thinking he had croup last night - it sounded that bad, but now that he is acting 100% fine (full of energy, eating drinking talking fine) I am not so sure. Dr. Google does say "croup is worse at night" but, is it completely non-existant in the day?
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.

Re: Dillon was up all night coughing like a seal
Itty Bitty is going through the same thing and pedi said it's just a cold, to give her honey before bed..

Thanks! Silly question - do you just give her a teaspoon of honey or do you mix it with something?

My girls are coughers, we do breathing treatments all the time. At night is when we realize they are having a "spell", but during the day they are usually fine...
Just keep an eye on him it could be the start of a cold or nothing.
It's just a spoonful of honey, I put it in the mircrowave for about 3 seconds

The good thing about honey is for coughing you can give it every hour so since it's not a drug. So if he wakes up you can give him more. I have noticed a difference.

Per some reccs from here, we give the kids the all-natural Hyland's and it really does the trick for overnight.
I can't believe my pedi told me the new recc age for cough medicine is now six! I can remember taking it when I was two or three!
No advice really, but yes, seal coughing is typically coup. But I'd think he'd have some residual symptoms during the day. Hope he feels better and stays well!
