You know, the mom with the screaming infant and the toddler throwing stuff off the shelves? Yeah, that was me. High five.
We just got our car back after it was in the shop for two weeks, and we leave tomorrow for Easter, so I had to go pick up a few things. Too bad H woke up earlier than I thought and was starving. Cue baby hysteria. Anna was happy enough, but insisted on throwing her hair bow and other stuff from the cart on the ground while I was trying to convince H to take his pacifier. After we checked out, I ran to the car, gave Anna my iPhone, and fed Harrison in the front seat. Thank goodness for that iPhone! ![]()
I was, however, grateful to the woman in front of me while we were checking out. She could have said any number of things about the chaos going on behind her, but she simply said, "I have two young ones close like that...it gets easier.". Good response.
Gotta love days like today!
Re: I was just "that mom" at Target
I have been there, actually at Target as well. I was about to burst into tears when a Mom came up to me, with her two older children (maybe 8 and 9) and told me not to worry about it, and she promised it would get better. Made me feel much better!
You are not alone! I was in the check out like at the grocery store last week and Nate had JUST finished eating an entire apple and was screaming for more food. Of course I had no snack stuff with me b/c I knew he was going to get the apple./ The line was long, so we weren't getting out of there fast. Another mom walked up to me and gave me gummy snacks in little packets for both Nate and Sammie. She just gave me a knowing look smiled and nodded at her toddler. Needless to say, I thanked her profusely!
Thank goodness for other mommy's!
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

I had one of my twins with me at Trader Joe's and he would not sit in the carriage and was having a huge meltdown, flailing all over the place. I was so embarrassed. Rather than give me dirty looks, this one woman came over to me and started offering her phone to ds as a distraction. She also offerd to run into TJ's to get me what I needed. I couldn't believe how kind she was and in my hysteria I don't think I let her know how much her kindness really touched me.
Unexplained Infertility
After two Clomid cycles, three injectable IUI cycles, two IVFs, two miscarriages, and one lap surgery, IVF #2 has brought us our little boy!
TTC #2
After months of being postponed or cancelled, FET #1.3 (Natural FET) brought us twin girls!
Hugs! Kudos to that woman for saying that to you!
They arrived at 36 weeks after PTL and bedrest for 14 weeks.
I'll be "that" mom too soon I imagine.
Not long ago I was "that" mom chasing Henry all over the store, cuz I made the bonehead decision to let him walk instead of ride in the cart. Fun times!
That was really sweet of the lady in front of you. It's nice when people are kind. All too often people are too quick to judge/be rude in that situation.
