Weeks ago we sleep trained using Ferber. We did nighttime and naps. He was successful from the get go. Naps were difficult but we ended up with 30 minute cat naps with an occasional 45-90 minute nap or I would extent one nap per day with a car ride home or to run errands. This was working well and I had resigned myself to the fact that he is a cat napper. He's a happy boy now so I have to just let it go and work with his 4 naps a day. Well lately I've been leaving him in the crib after he wakes up at the 30 minute mark. As long as he's just fussing or not crying hysterically, I will give him about 10 minutes before I go to get him up. Today he was crying but I waited just in case. He had a particularly loud outburst right at 10 minutes and then silence. He's now been down for an additional 50 mins on top of the first 30. There is hope ladies! The evil cat nap can be tamed. Hang in there.

Re: He fell back asleep...for a nap!!! XP 3-6MONTH
Yes. Keep it up.
Also, if I want to cheat or I feel like he needs more sleep for some reason I will only put him in the car immediately following a 30 minute nap and he'll go right back to sleep so at least I didn't break the consistency in that sense. Try that with the swing occasionally. But if I were you I'd put the swing on the room right next to the crib. Good luck.
She doesn't really like it at night when it's 12 hours of constrained arms, but nap time it's awesome. she loves it for shorter stretches.
