We have talked about the name Brynn as a first name, but her initials would be BJ. Is that a complete no-no? Is she asking to be teased or will it be okay? [Poll]
My SIL's name is Bobbie Jo. She hates her name and has always gone by her initials - BJ. I'm not sure she'd recommend calling your child BJ, but I don't think she's scarred by it either.
I went to school with a boy that went by BJ. I'm sure he got teased at some point, but kids don't keep up with teasing if they get no reaction or someone stands up to them. This guy was fine and still goes by BJ as an adult.
I would usually say initials don't matter very much but in this case I wouldn't do it.
I say this. I think mainly when you initial thinks you use your first and last - however if you are havinga daughter with teh 1st name "B" and she marries a "j last name- what can you do- it happens. i think its bad to start out with as a child you get teasted as an adult not so much. I try to avoid it at all costs. On documents you sign you initial things- mortgages, legal documents- I work in an office and witness tons- I wont do it - but JMO
Our LN starts with J, and DH has completely ruled out B names for us. However, I don't think it's a big deal.

I think it's totally fine. DH's first and middle initials are BJ, and he actually goes by BJ. He only rarely gets comments, mostly from juvenile boys. It doesn't bother him.

I went to school with a girl who's name was Billie Jo, but she went by BJ. And.....no joke, last name was Seaman......BJ Seaman.....poor girl. It was bad.
I don't think girls get teased as much as boys do. Even if you were having a boy and his initials were BJ, I don't think it would be a huge deal. I think possibly only people with dirty minds (like immature, teenage boys) would tease someone about it. And who wants their opinions anyway?

I went to school with a guy named BJ Weiner. I can't decide which is worse!
Re: Are the initials BJ a complete no-no?
I couldn't ask for a better source!
Thanks!
