I'm a lurker, but need some help. I have a one day conference next week in Philadelphia - I'm taking the train from Baltimore. I'll basically be gone for 12 hours. I usually pump about 3 times during the day at work between 9 and 5.
My question is - do I lug my pump with me and try to find a place to pump and keep to my regular schedule? Or just take a manual with me and try to pump at least once or twice?
I just don't know when & how long the breaks will be, where I'll be able to do it and it's a lot of stuff to lug around all day - in the train stations, cabs, conference center. It's only one day - my supply is pretty good, so I shouldn't take too much of a hit if I go off schedule for one day, right?
My baby will be fine, she'll get fed before I leave, she'll have her usualy meals at daycare, and I have enough of a freezer stash that my DH should be able to feed her before I get home.
Re: What would you do?
Wow! I thought I had 31 responses! I had thought about driving but I didn't want to deal with traffic. I was probably going to pump on my way to the train station anyway. Oh the logistics of being a pumping mom.
Thanks for the insight ladies...I'll probably just bring my pump. I think my initial hesitation was because the bag that came with my pump sucks - so I'll have to find a better bag.
