UOs...re-do. So sorry about that!

Okay, my computer just went crazy and now it won't let me delete the 30+ repeat UO posts I just accidentally made. Sorry about that. Embarrassed

As I was saying (30+ times apparently), I cannot stand smocked clothing, for boys or girls, although I think it looks more ridiculous on boys.

Re: UOs...re-do. So sorry about that!

  • I was like holy smokes, 35 entries in it before 8am (AZ time).  People must have been saving all their UO from the week before. :D

  • lol.  It seems like it made a new post every time you added a new word too.  Silly technology.

My UO is I hate baby shirts.  Yes, they are adorable, but they ride up when I go to pick up DS.  The only way to prevent it is to put coveralls on over it, but then it covers part of the shirt.  I'd take a cute onesie over a shirt anyday.

  • I don't understand why people blog.
I hate when a baby is over 1 year and people still use months in terms of age (especially over 2 years of age!).

  • Mine...

I hate the taste of booze.  It's disgusting, and I don't understand how people drink without gagging.  Beer? Gross.  Rum? Gross.  Vodka? Gross.

Now, jello shots with gin?  Yummy.   And wine...I do love me some kinds of wine. So there are exceptions ;)

Also, my husband doesn't drink and it ticks me off that people assume he's an alcoholic and that's why he doesn't drink.  He also hates the taste of booze. We're not churchy or preachy, we just don't like it!

My husband and I just made jello jelly bean shots for easter, but we used Everclear.

Maybe I should have saved the fact that we made shots for a religious holiday for FFFC ;).

Yes!  Do you know I have a "friend"  who told us here baby was 27 months old???  Come on!

  • I have no problem with other people taking my baby off my hands; I really don't get the posts where people are upset because their mom/MIL wants to hold the baby a lot - I say, GOOD TAKE HER so I can pee/eat with both hands/brush my teeth for once, etc.  I love DD and love holding her, but as the mommy of a baby who likes to be held A LOT, I don't have a problem sharing her when we have company.

I agree that over 12 months is just silly to go only by months.  I'd rather say "2 years 3 months".  At least then people don't have to calculate in their heads how old my baby is.

I've already posted one, but another UO is that I don't mind letting DH play his video games.  He does a lot of the cooking and cleaning right now (DS insists on only going to sleep on the breast and continuing to be held while sleeping), so I don't begrudge him the game time.  Plus I'm a game dork too, so I enjoy watching him play certain games.  However, he does pause every time I ask him to do something and does it (unless he's in a boss battle, then I either wait or do it myself).

This.  I am one of those annoying people who keeps posting things on here like "what do you do with your LO all day?" because I honestly don't know what to do! I'm like, okay we've done the floor gym, read books, sung songs, gone for a walk, walked around the house, made funny faces...and it's 9:30 AM.  Crap.

Another UO - I think breast feeding is amazing and plan on EP-ing for my daughter for as long as I can (up to a year), but I think it's weird to BF a toddler.  If your child can stand up at your breast and ask for it by name, maybe it's time to wean. [shudder]

I know this opinion will be very unpopular, especially here on thebump, but as you said OP, healthy debate is a good thing!

I just want to add potty training to this! If I am holding an entire conversation with a child, it is time to use the toilet! Before anyone blasts me, I taught 2-3 year old pre-school and have potty trained about 15 kids. It can be done no matter how stubborn they are!

I agree with all of the above.

This!  My mom comes over every Friday and all I have to do w/ K during that time is BF her because my mom does everything else!  I LOVE it!

My son didn't learn to use the potty until he was over 4 years old. I'm sure I could have made him use the potty sooner, but it would have been a huge fight and I knew he wouldn't go to collage still in diapers ;) so it wasn't worth it to me. All my other kids learned by 3, and one right after her 2nd birthday.

It's not always an issue of being "stubborn". Not all kids, especially boys, have the muscle control before 3. We were lucky and DS was trained at 2.5, but he was ready. I didn't realize the connection between verbal ability and bladder control! Hopefully your LO is ready early or talks late with that logic! j/k

I do see your point, but I'm sure no one wants their LO in diapers longer than needed.

I'd actually add bottle and pacifier use to that list!
