Morning belly aches/soreness?

In the morning when I first get up my belly feels sore. I think that it is from laying on one side and my stomach is being stretched/hanging to one side most of the night. I put a pillow under some of my belly for support but I'm not sure it's helping. Does anyone else experience this? It's usually no longer sore after about 15-30 minutes...

  • Are you feeling it down low? I felt this same thing a couple of weeks ago and I asked my doctor about it. He said that it sounded like it was just the muscles being sore. Like you, after I would walk around for a little bit, it seemed to loosen up and feel better. I've been sleeping with a pillow under it almost every night since then, and it did get better...it took a few days though.

  • My stomach is pretty much uncomfortable all the time, but I notice that in the morning it itches like crazy. It always feels like it did some extra stretching while I slept.

  • I have a sore belly in the mornings too. I've kind of thought it was because Ive gone the night without drinking water, so I'm a little dehydrated and tight-feeling. But it could totally just be muscles needing to loosen up once I'm up and moving.

  • I don't really get it in the morning, but I notice it when I switch onto my other side during the night. If I sleep on my left side for a few hours then plop over on my right, the whole right side of my belly feels achy. It only lasts a few minutes, but it seems to go away even quicker if I put a pillow under that side to support my belly. I'm guessing it's just a little stretching from your body readjusting to the baby's weight on that side.

  • Mine is sore when I get up too, and it feels so heavy!    I think it's gravity:)

  • Good to know I'm not the only one! Thanks ladies! I need to make sure I use the pillow better and drink more water during the night.
