I agree with the previous posters. However, if you DO have coverage for IF testing, I would make sure you take it to a doctor who accepts your insurance so you don't have to pay OOP for something that would otherwise be covered. Good luck to you!

You should also look to see if the coverage is different based on where he goes. A co-worker did his through a urologist because it was considered part of his regular every-day coverage, vs his IF coverage which is crappy. Had he gone to an RE, he would have paid 50%. He found out later if he just got a Rx from his Dr and dropped it off at the lab it would have been no co-pay as a lab sample.

My OB/GYN gave me the script. MH dropped it off at a lab.
Your RE could do it for you also
