Do any of you use a cool mist humidifier? DS has had a cough for the past two weeks - not horrible, but dry and uncomfortable, especially at night. He also wakes up with a lot of dry boogers and his dry skin is getting worse. I've been reading about cool mist humidifiers and how they are great therapy for these type of symptoms, but do they really work? How long does it take to see a difference?

Ditto. Since we have forced hot air, it gets pretty dry in our house. We have been running one since day 1.

Thanks, ladies! It sounds like I might have to give one a try. We officially moved DS to his own room last night and every time he coughs, my half-awake self automatically jumps from "small cough" to "omg is he choking to death??" and I was up about 20 times last night to check on him when he otherwise was STTN.
Ballerina, sorry to hear yours isn't working! What brand are you using so I know to avoid it? I was thinking of ordering this one. There are some mixed reviews but for a majority of them it sounds like they didn't read the instruction manual first.
