please tell me I'm crazy! (XP from PAL)

Ok, so here's the thing...DD figured out how to go from her back to her tummy. Super exciting, right? Definitely. Here's the catch: Now I'm terrified that she is going to roll over at night and suffocate. I know this is crazy, because she can roll from her tummy to back. I'm just freaking out about nothing.

Ugh, I think I'm just stressed with all the crazy drama going on. And when I stress out, some times I get a little irrational. Please some one tell me that worrying like this is nuts!

  • My LO has started rolling to his tummy to sleep, too. I just keep reminding myself that if he is strong enough to roll over he is strong enough to lift his head if he feels like he can't breathe.

I know it's tough, but I'm trying not to worry too much about it and have confidence in his ability to lift his head.

This is what our pedi says-- once they're able to roll onto their stomachs on their own, there's no need to keep flipping them back onto their backs.

  • I spent a good week and a half freaking out once Addy figured out how to roll. Now, she sleeps better because she can roll into more comfortable positions. I've finally stopped waking up to check on her every 45 minutes.

Once they are strong enough to roll on their own, they're fine. Crazy how fast they get strong enough!

  • I was nervous at first too, especially because DD can't roll back over to her back from her tummy.  But, no matter what I do, she keeps flipping over and sleeping on her tummy. So, I leave her. And sometimes, I just check on her a few times.
