Target Brand Diapers - Do you use them?

Hi ladies! I was told by a couple moms that Target brand diapers are just as good as Pampers. We are def a Pampers family (love that DD can sleep through the night without a leak), and I was wondering what your thoughts on Target brand diapers were? Baby Bargains does not give them the best review (the 2011 book) so I was wondering how they worked for you. There is such a huge price difference that I would be willing to try them out, but don't want to waste the money if they suck. Thanks!!

  • We can use them for daily wear but definitely not for overnight. My SIL used them for all 3 of her boys and loved them. I guess J pees too much!

  • We also use them for daily wear.  They leaked overnight for us, so we use them during the day (so cheap!), and use Pampers swaddlers for overnight.  I like them, but they don't wick away moisture (like a runny poop) as well as the Pampers.  But they're great for the day!

  • We use them for both girls and have never had issues at all.  They work the exact same for us, and I like saving money buying less expensive diapers.

  • We love Pampers too but my ILs bought us a ton of Parent's Choice (Walmart brand) so we have been using those.  I have to say that I think they are just as good.  My DS hasn't leaked through them at all and we even use them at night and he doesn't get changed for 12 hours.

If you want a cheaper brand you might want to give them a try.

  • don't do it!  We are a pampers home, too, and recently tried Target. It's like diapering your baby in a paper lunch sack. Sooo rough on their skin. They aren't very breathable either.

  • We really didn't like the Target brand. They were flimsy and it seemed like DD leaked more often when she wore them. We're a pampers family.

  • We are a Pamers family as well but someone said to try Target brand. They hold up just as well as the Pampers but like pp said they are not as soft, sort of papery. They don't bother LO skin so we will keep using them. We use them during the day and use Pampers baby dry at night.

  • I like Target diapers just fine for daytime. I've never had a problem with them leaking. They even hold up great for LO's big afternoon poops. I don't think I'd use them overnight, though. They get pretty soggy when they're really wet. I prefer Pampers or Luvs for bedtime.

Walmart's Parent's Choice diapers are nearly identical to Target's Up & Up diapers, and not as stiff/papery on the outside. They're cheaper too, and the tabs stick better for me. I've switched over to those and Luvs now for daytime.

  • I haven't tried Target and I know you didn't ask this question but I just wanted to tell you that we use Dollar General diapers when we're out and about and overnight. They're only $6 for like 50. SUPER cheap. How much are Target brand?

I just bought a package of 96 for $13.99, I think.  They're 13 or 14 cents each.  I think they're a good 7-10 cents cheaper for each one than what I was paying for Pampers on diapers.com.  I am going to start trying the Target ones I bought tomorrow and am very interested to see how they do.  My sister loves them and said that her son didn't leak at night with them when he leaks with Pampers.  The leaking we've been dealing with every single day is DS' poopy diapers, so I'm very curious to see how they do with those.  I noticed right away when I took them out of the package that they seem thinner.

  • I used the target brand diapers for the first couple months, they break down to 14 cents per diaper. I recently switched to luvs which are 15 cents a diaper. the luvs are MUCH better than the target, but the target ones were still good for the price. Never had any problems with them. (all my in-laws all use the target brand and swear by them) Pampers and Huggies were 20+ cents per diaper. I would reccomend Luvs first, target second.
