How many eggs for Easter morning hunt

DS 5 and DD 3, we will do an egg hunt the morning of Easter. How many plastic eggs?  And what do you put in them?  I bought 12 Hershey's eggs and 4 Play Doh eggs, filled a bunch with pennies a few with dimes and two with quarters. I put Panda crackers in some and DS remembered that their were Cherrios in some last year so I have to do some of those. I have a few bigger eggs and no idea wht to put in them but don't want anything too cool since one kid might get all of them.

Re: How many eggs for Easter morning hunt

  • Can you color code or something so your son only finds some and if he finds another color they are to be saved for your daughter?
    Son #1: 12.27.08 (6 years)
    Son #2: 02.06.12 (2.5 yrs)
    Baby #3 due: 02.10.15 (It's a girl!)

Probably a dozen or so each, which will lead to their hidden baskets.  I put in money (pennies and such like you), bracelets or hairclips for DD, matchbox cars for DS, stickers or tattoos, jelly beans and such.  I am going to color code most of them this year -- DD gets pink, orange and purple and DS gets blue, yellow and green.  I also use a label maker (you could use a sharpie) and put DD's first initial for her eggs as she can understand to look for her initial.  That way I can ensure it is evenly divided and DS isn't ended up with bracelets and hairclips.
