Re: Shoes (Clicky Poll)

  • Avery has such fat feet, I can't find any shoes to fit her right. So she never has any on.

  • SS  = almost never. Just when we'll be somewhere outside and I know he'll be on the ground so he'll get his socks dirty.

  • I put "just when we leave the house" but I know she wears them pretty much all day at daycare. (they take them off in the crib, but I think that's it)

I leave her barefoot pretty much all the time around our house though.

  • I said when we leave the house, but that's only if it's cold out. I had been just putting her in socks, but she instantly pulls them off, so we had to start putting shoes on her as well.

  • Only when we leave the house.  Otherwise, he is normally barefoot.

  • Went with always has them on, as we aren?t home during the day much.  So its either Shoes or footie PJ?s.  Also its the only way i can keep socks on her feet.

I voted "on special occasions".  She wears them for church and that's about it at this point.  She doesn't cruise yet and when we are out and about she is either in a stroller or in the cart.  When she starts walking some then I will put pre-walking shoes on her.  At this point there is no point and it's said that it's better for them to learn to walk barefoot anyway.

  • Because she's starting to try and stand, I try to put shoes on her when we go out and when she goes to daycare. She slips around with just socks on.

  • I voted never, but she wore shoes one time (way before she was mobile).  She will be wearing a pair on Easter but they probably won't stay on long.

Ditto, all the time at daycare, and only socks around the hose (we take our shoes off in the house too).

Unless I know he is going to be walking or putting his feet on the ground, I'm pretty lax about shoes.

  • We don't even own a pair of shoes for her! I don't see the point until after she's learned to walk. She does have a lot of pairs of those mary jane socks. I call them her trompe l'oeil socks :-)

We have to buy extra wide shoes at Stride Rite.  C has fat feet, too :)  Just like his daddy.

  • I voted never.  She never has and has really small feet.  Size 1 are too big and I can't find a zero in stores, I'm going to wait a few more weeks then measure her feet again and order some soft soles online.

I will have to look into this! I didn't think about wide shoes.

  • DD has only worn a pair of sandals once for her 9 months pictures and they were on for about 10 minutes total. She's pulling up and cruising, but when we're out, I have her in the stroller or I wear her so I don't worry about her feet on the ground.

  • Now, it's just when we go out or for special occasions.  When it was colder, I pretty much had them on all the time because it was the only way to keep socks on her.  Since it's warm now and I just use them for cuteness, it's just when we go out.  I know a lot of people will disagree, but I feel like going out without shoes/socks looks a little tacky.  Sorry.  :/  I don't know I think that though.
