What are you/did you wear home from hospital?

My maternity wardrobe is EXTREMELY small - 3 jeans and 4 tops.  I've packed my hospital bag, but last night it dawned on me that I haven't really packed anything to wear home.  I've got yoga pants and a loose t-shirt packed.

I know I want something comfortable.  Should I plan on taking a pair of maternity jeans and shirt?

Do you have suggestions?  TIA!

  • I'm bringing a maxi dress.

  • Last time I wore lounge pants, a hoodie jacket and a nursing tank. This time I'm wearing the same pants and a nursing top.
i wish i could be joking but my dad is the music teacher at a church so he owuld be mad. we had sex, all the time how bad i know but we dont want to wait and he said GREAT OH KAY! and I was really feeling the wets? down there- too embarsed to say- but he acted like man.
  • it was cold and rainy when I went home. I wore some stretchy yoga type pants and just a long sleeve t-shirt with a fleece jacket.

With DS he was born in august so I wore a fold over cotton skirt and a top that was 1 size bigger.

  • Yoga pats and maternity top....whatever you choose make it big and comfy.  I wouldn't wear jeans.

  • I wore the jeans I wore into the hospital (skinny jeans with a small Demi panel, so they still fit/weren't huge), a nursing tank and a cardigan.

  • I have only yoga/lounge pants and casual tops packed in my bag. I figured I want to be as comfy as possible.

I had thought about a maxi dress.

Looks like I'm shopping tonight - either for a dress or some lounge pants!

  • I have a couple jersey dress things or some yoga pants/maternity top... whatever is the most comfy.

  • I wore maternity jeans, a nursing tank, and a hoodie last time.  I'll probably wear the same thing again but I do have a dress packed in case it's warm.

  • I'm most comfortable in a soft flowy dress, so I'll probably just wear that and a sweater.  I also bought some lounge pants and a nursing tank, but I don't personally find them as comfortable.
  • I wore a pair of sweatpant shorts (not maternity, but a size bigger than I wore pre pregnancy), a nursing tank top and slippers. My feet were so swollen that I couldn't get my tennis shoes on. I was very comfy!

  • I'd recommend bringing a few options. I brought two outfits - a pair of maternity pants and a maternity shirt, as well as a pair of jeans 2 sizes larger than my normal size (I had them from after babies #1 and 2) and a larger sized shirt. I wound up being able to wear the non-maternity clothes home, which was such a nice treat as I'm SO FREAKING TIRED of my maternity wardrobe!

  • I have a (non-maternity) maxi dress. It fits over my bump, but I wore it before I was pg, so I know it will fit no matter my size and I think it will feel good to not be in maternity clothes.

  • either this maxi dress (ordered it in blue and black)....if it arrives in time...being shipped) may wear the blue one...

  • I had taken maternity jeans but ended up wearing pajama bottoms and a maternity shirt home. It's LA--people wear pajamas to the grocery store so I figured I could wear them home from the hospital.
