I was prescribed Reglan pretty much right after LO was born because I was such a low producer. Although it did help slightly with breastmilk production, I have been in such a fog since I started taking it. My anxiety levels are always high, and when I'm in social situations, I feel like I'm not really present...A "Zombie" as my friends call it.
I decided to stop taking it last Thursday, and am now experiencing withdrawal side effects which include nervousness and anxiety.
I'm mad that I ever decided to take this medicine. I thought it would be a miracle pill that would help me EBF. Now I'm crying all of the time, and cannot even remember the last time I laughed...
I sound like such a complainer. I'd really like to hear if anyone else has experienced this with Reglan?
Re: Any Reglan (Metoclopromide) users here?
I'm not a Reglan user, but understand your anxiety and the "zombie" state really well. I was drinking "Mother's Milk" tea (a natural herbal tea) to help with my lactation. It was recommended by my LC. It seemed to do the trick. If you're still BF you might want to try that.
You might want to post on the BFing board to see if anyone there has taken it and experienced some of the same effects.
Hoping things get better...
