Swaddle Magic

I had given up on using swaddles since he always got his arms free and always fussed when I put him in it. Then I started reading "The Happiest Baby on the Block" and decided to give it another try when he got fussy tonight. I used a SwaddleMe and snugged him in tightly, forcing his arms down. He fussed at me the entire time, then I got him in tight, picked him up and rocked him a moment and... silence. Alert eyes, looking around, then shortly after heavy eyes. It's like a magic switch. I'm so amazed.

Swaddle mes are magical!! I used one for his nap today and it was a great nap for both of us. Until today we used it just overnight but henceforth naps will get it too.

I have been using a Swaddle Me ever since we got home from the hospital. DD does great in it, she falls asleep almost immediately after we put it on. I will be using it as long as we need to!

I can never get the swaddle mes tight enough no matter how hard I try. He always gets both hands out.

I love them too and registered for tons of them. She fusses when I put her in it, but is much calmer in it. DH and his family think she doesn't like it and that she needs her hands free, but I disagree. I'm like fine you can unswaddle her and then take care of her while she's screaming and flapping her arms frantically.

We used the Woombie for the first two weeks and that worked great but then she looked so uncomfortable in it, I quit using it. I felt DD was a little to small to fit into the Halo up until last week so I gave up on swaddling. Then I started reading HBOTB as well and decided to give it another try. DD sleeps so well at night without fussing. It's a solid couple of hours without a peep. During the day, I let her just nap without it. I think giving her a break without being swaddled helps destinguish her nights and days..or so I think.

We (I) used the Swaddle Me (DH prefers large swaddle blankets) with DD and again with DS. It just makes it SO stinkin' easy to get them swaddled and it really extends the hours they sleep!

Our hospital actually does a buffet brunch and shows Happiest Baby on the Block at discharge. The nurses use the 5s's in the nursery. It works!!

I always kinda laugh (inside of course) at the mamas who say their kids don't like to be swaddled. LMAO, of course they fuss while your doing it....it's what happens after that that is the magic. They quiet!

I am in the same boat! DS wasn't sleeping much at all, fussing all night until I read HBOTB and bought swaddlemes. What a difference. Tonight he slept from 7-3! Amazing!! My IL's also think he hates to be swaddled since he fusses while you do it. I have the same attitude, fine then unswaddle him and you deal with him while I take a nap. Whatev. Luckly they in another state so I don't have to deal with that much.

After reading this post last night, I swaddled Willow and she slept from 11 to 7!!! It was glorious.

We love our swaddles. We brought one to the hospital and used it from the beginning. We have both Swaddlemes and Halo sleepsacks with the swaddle attachment. I like them better than using a blanket because it keeps her arms snug but it lets her move her legs. We only use them at night and she sleeps like a champ.

Wow ok I guess I need to try again then! We stopped because of the fussing as well.
