Alien--not just the movie!

So my little one has been rolling around so much today that I feel like any moment he is going to pop out of my belly like the movie Alien!

Gross I know, and kind of weid, but on top of that it is starting to be uncomfortable. Like right now I swear his foot is up under my ribs on my right side. I have a little tumbler in my belly and he is starting to lose space.

Anyone know when he is supposed to settle into a head down position and stay there for the most part (typically anyway--I know all moms and babies are different)?

Re: Alien--not just the movie!

  • From what I've heard and read, around 27 weeks is when they start to move into the head down... which would explain why I'm having major sciatic pain and I also feel feet or something up under my ribs. I also keep getting punched 'down under' - it's got to be hands - when I'm feeling movement it doesn't hurt as bad below as it does above...

  • I was just saying that I wish I had a little window to see what the heck is going on in there. Last night LO went from side to side for about 10 minutes. My husband was watching tv and I felt him staring at me. He gave me the side eye and said 'what did you eat today?'. Nice.

  • My LO has been rolling around in my belly as well, and I swear that she'll be a gymnast when she gets older. She likes to kick me in the stomach and also in the lungs in the process and not fun. She's already in the head down position as of just over two weeks ago. Even just watching my belly move with her is pretty fun and interesting. I'm like, oh, there goes a foot, and was that just an elbow that just shifted? It really does make you think of the movie Alien.

  • I had my first alien belly for this pregnancy last night. He was so active. I would love to just peak in and see what he is up too. Unfortunately it carried on into the night and I didn't sleep so good. Less charming at 2 am. :-)
