I don't think that sounds all that small for a 9 month old.

DD was 20lbs and 27" tall.

Nora was only 0.2 lbs less and 1 inch taller, and everyone tells me how huge she is. Weird.

17.5 lbs and 27 inches....I don't think she gained much since then! I put on a Carter's 12 month shirt on her and she was swimming in it.

Right there with you - Andrew was 19lbs 5oz and 29.4 inches. His pedi said he was perfect, though, so I'm not worried.

I have a peanut...

At her 9 month appointment DD was 15 lb 9 oz and 25.5 inches.

We're watching her weight and height very closely right now. Yesterday she was 16 lb 8oz and 26 inches.

DS was 19lbs 13ozs & 29 inches long.

I'm a little confused, you guys say this is small, but DS is in the 50 percentile for weight & 75th percentile for height. Plus, he just looks bigger, & people make comments that he looks heavier then 19-20 lbs. I personally think he looks average, not big, not small.
