C-sections

Working out

So I am now 3 months PP and I have decided to start working out.

I was cleared at 6 weeks but just never found the time... and well I figure if I dont make time now I never will - plus I am going to visit family and friends in NY in a month and want to at least not look pregnant any more.

So any who I am starting the 30 day shred. Have any of you ladies done it? I heard its a lot of core stuff; does it hurt your belly? Have you had any problems doing any type of working out? Is it possible after three months for it to open or anything like that? I think I had a fairly easy c/s with a pretty easy recovery I just am not sure what if anything to except.

  • I think you'd be fine -- I started doing lighter ab workouts around 3 weeks pp and by 6 weeks pp I was running again and doing some pretty intense core workouts.  I started running 5 weeks pp and it was REALLY hard, but by 3 months I really didn't think there was a discernible difference in my workouts before I was pregnant, which included a lot of Pilates/abs/core strengthening.

  • I usually do insanity and I just started adding some intense bootcamp style workout that I did on Sunday. I still feel sore today arpoung my surgery area it is not major just wasn't expecting it but I assume it will get better as I continue. I started three weeks pp light exercising and just worked back up to my normal.

    I am almost 9 months pp.
