Any LO's not rolling over yet?

DD is over 4 months now and still hasn't rolled over. Should I be worried? We do lots of tummy time and she just can't get the hang of rolling to her back yet. Any tips?

Selene just started last night. We practiced by rolling her onto her side so she was kind of balanced and then letting her roll either way.

Last night, she pushed up all the way onto her hands and then sort of used her head and threw herself over lol. It was really cute. She has yet to master back to belly, but can get over onto her elbow before getting stuck.

DS also did not roll until 4.5 months and was walking by 11 months, so I don't think that there is any cause for concern. Smile

DS is on the verge of rolling. He can go from his back to his side, and the only thing stopping him from tummy to back is that he keeps his one arm out (effectively preventing him from rolling). As soon as he figures that out we're in business.

Not yet. I'm not worried and neither is my pedi. Some babies skip right to crawling

DD just did it two weeks ago, and has only done it twice since. The thing that worked for us was naked tummy time (not even a diaper.)

he rolls from tummy to back sporadically (18 weeks) but doesn't go back to front. he does not roll regularly at all.

DD rolled over once about 6 weeks ago and hasn't tried again since. Tummy time usually results in her laying there crying and sucking her thumb.

This. DD hates tummy time but has great neck control so I'm not worried.

DD just went from back to belly for the first time Friday night and then belly to back on Sunday. My pedi said that as long as she could roll onto her sides then rolling all the way over didn't matter.

DD has rolled a handful of times from belly to back....but only a handful, so I don't consider her a roller. I wouldn't worry too much now, all of my kids have rolled out the later side of "normal" so far!!!

My DD Has been rolling from back to belly for a few weeks, but still hasn't been able to roll belly to back, and we have practiced a lot! I'm sure she will when she's ready...

LO can roll to her side quite well from her tummy but she doesn't seem to have any interest in going completely over. She doesn't even try when she's on her tummy. Instead she wiggles her knees and legs and scoots herself a few inches around on the mat.

DS is 4 months, 1 week and rolls from back to front. He's never tolerated tummy time well and hasn't learned how to get on his back yet. It's a huge pain because he loves his new skill but then gets stuck on his tummy, and crying always ensues. I'd like to leave him there for awhile so he'll learn how to flip back, but we never get a long enough stretch. I wouldn't worry about a baby not rolling at this age, though. I've also heard about some babies who go right to crawling.

Hmm that's interesting our pedi said that they should be rolling at least one direction by 4m and suggested that we start "helping" DD but putting her on her side and then kind of pushing her over. We have been doing that and she has rolled over once and it scared her and she hasn't done it again.

he rolls from back to side easily, but it's totally motivated by wanting to get to his thumb! So I am not sure if that counts, ha.

He can't go all the way over.

I'm not worried that DD isn't rolling yet. I think she can do it because she practically rolls off my lap when nursing (thank goodness I expect it now). But put her on the floor and she just lays flat or rolls to her side.

Ive noticed I have one of the older babies on here so I thought I would chime in. DD is 5 months yesterday and no attempts to roll from tummy to back yet. She tried really hard to get from back to tummy but cant quite figure out how to swing her leg over. She can almost sit up on her own so I predict there will be no rolling over and she will just go straight to crawling and roll after that. She was 3 weeks early but I dont think that has anything to do with it. LO will do it when she is ready

LOL this is exactly what my DD except she rolled over for the first time a couple of weeks ago and hasn't done again since!

LO rolls from back to belly all the time but he can't figure out belly to back. This makes for a few fussy times during the night when he's trying to sleep. Hoping he'll figure it out soon so I can get some uninterrupted sleep.

Me too except LO has learned to roll over now tummy to back and back to tummy. He does it when he wants to but usually to get a toy near him. He was born 2 weeks early and already has two teeth!

Thank you so much for all the responses!! DD rolls from her back to her side but then just stays there. I've helped her roll onto her tummy from there by giving her a little nudge like most of you said. I will take all of your advice and be patient and wait. You made me feel much better!!!
