Back story: my daughter has a suspected milk protein/soy allergy, as well as eczema and reflux.
I was BFing her before all of this started and she never wanted to eat. She's been on Alimentum for a month and finally she's wanted to eat normal amounts. the eczema seems to have cleared up as well, but I don't know about the reflux. She still has bouts of it even though she's on Prilosec.
Now I'm trying to solve her sleep problems and I wonder if it's the allergies or another GI issue still rearing it's head. She has never slept well. She's 4 months old and wakes every 1-2 hours at night, thrashing around so violently it scares me. She creates huge red oozing patches on her cheeks because she's thrashing so intensely. She's obviously uncomfortable and I don't know why.
Has anyone experienced this? I would love some advice.

I'm sorry to hear your babe has the same problems. Yes, she sleeps in the rock n play usually. Otherwise, she likes to be on her side. I try to avoid putting her flat on her back. that's always the worst for her.
I just pulled out the swaddle again to see if that would help her and she took a great morning nap. My concern is that shes already 4 mo old and is getting too big for it.

I could have written your post. My LO has MSPI, and excema but no reflux. This was diagnosed at 7 weeks- before that he was a screaming unhappy baby 24 hours a day and never slept. Now that I am dairy, soy and most of the time wheat free, he is happier, the excema is much better, but still wont sleep longer than 1.5-2 hours at a time. LO loved the swing for a while but now doesnt want anything to do with it.
LO was hospitalized at 5 weeks for a high fever and then one thing I noticed is that he slept better than ever in their bed. They have the crib mattress elevated on one side and rolled blankets on all sides of the baby. So I re-created this in his crib at home, wrap him tightly in his swaddle and put on the white noice machine. This seems to help to at least get those 2 hour stretches but he seems to have a hard time STAYING asleep! He rubs his head back and forth like he is itchy and screams when he wakes up! I would love any advice the others offer you!
