Thumb Sucking

Hey ladies :) I hope you are all doing well!

Recently my sweet LO has been doing anything he can during the night to suck his thumb! He will work and wiggle to unswaddle himself to get to his thumb and then as soon as it comes out he wakes himself up and gets upset.

Our pediatrician said it is not a big deal but he does not sleep when his arms are out :( Do y'all have any suggestions on what I could try? TIA

    Have you read Happiest Baby on the Block?  I know the author recommends swaddling until three months and then attempting to swaddle with one arm out.  If they get used to having the one arm out then moving on to not swaddling.  My thought is that if they can find their thumb they might be able to soothe themselves better and (depending on the baby) do decently without both arms swaddled.

    Sorry no real advice, I just wanted to say DD loves to suck on her hands. She is very wiggly in the crib. Usually if I just let her be she will go back to sleep. We haven't swaddled her since she was two weeks old. She hates it.

    We swaddle, but I have started leaving one arm out (the one she likes to suck) and in a week or so I plan to leave both arms out.  I figure if we kick the swaddle I won't need to buy the 6 month swaddleme. I also only swaddle at night and we work through naps during the day so she is getting use to sleeping without the swaddle then.
    Hallelujah, it's a miracle, I have children AND a signature!
