As much as I love spending time with lo all day, I can't help but look around the house with anxiety about all the things that need to be done!! Ahh! Usually when she goes down for the night I am ready for bed too. I need a maid!
For me it's mainly dusting. I can vacuum with her in the sling, laundry is pretty hands off, and I have to wash bottles for daycare and pump parts for work every night.... But there is a layer of dust on all flat surfaces right now :-/
Here's an interesting philosophy: You can do anything for fifteen minutes and get a lot done. The Fly Lady (google it if you aren't familiar) has a pretty good system that works well. My mom uses it and her house is as clean as I've ever seen it.
I do the floors Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Bathrooms on Monday and Friday. Laundry on Monday, ironing on Tuesday, dusting on Thursday, and an extra thing on the weekends (like the blinds or baseboards). That way the house is 'ready' for the week and weekend. Lucky me, my husband does the kitchen and dishes.
I definitely feel the same way....especially with infant twins I am lucky when I get 30 minutes to myself...and that is after Dh is home too. I am still in the "I am lucky to get a shower" mode....
I am dreading chores when I go back to work. Just the dishes and laundry alone are killing me. I use to do one chore in the morning before work (empty the dishwasher, vacuum, start or fold laundry) but now I don't know how I am going to have time to feed LO and set up my pump and I will NOT be walking the dog.
Hallelujah, it's a miracle, I have children AND a signature!
