I have BF DD since the day she was born with only a few hiccups. Two weeks ago she began refusing to nurse during the day (only at night and wake up). Then a little over a week ago she began refusing all the time. She has not nursed in over a week even though I offer at least twice a day. I am now an EPer and am bound and determined to give her BM until a year. My feelings are hurt and I feel rejected by her. Anyone else have a LO that decided they no longer needed the boob?
Re: Self Weaning
BFP #1 9/7/10, EDD 5/14/11, Violet born 5/27/11.
BFP #2 4/9/12, EDD 12/16/12, M/C Rory 4/24/12.
BFP #3 10/6/12, EDD 6/16/12., Matilda born 6/17/13.
I hope so, I keep trying.
I have spoken to the LLL and understand that nursing strikes are common around this time, but usually only last 2-4 days. I have tried all of their tips too. I took her to the pedi just in case and he said he thinks she is weaning (and perfectly healthy). I guess time will tell.
I never heard of nursing strikes but I'm so glad I open this post, DS is on strike! It's only been two days with today but I was close to calling pedi today because he has not been asking and when I offer he bites or drinks for 2 min and what was more odd he refused tonight his usual nurse-to-sleep! He kept crying and I was wondering if he needed more solids at dinner.
