We are so excited, we caved and told our parents and siblings on Saturday. (Thank goodness it wasn't yesterday, I don't know that anyone would have taken us seriously!)
So far, only two of the sibs (my husband's) have asked what I think is a little too much of a personal question: Was it expected, or a surprise?
My default answer has been, "A little bit of both," but both times it seemed like they expected more of an answer. His sister dropped it when I didn't elaborate, but his brother didn't.
What's your default answer in this situation? Do you even care? (I might be outside of the mainstream for even caring, for all I know.)

Haha! If they weren't family, and we hadn't told them over my phone, I'm pretty sure that's what my facial expression would put across.
Thanks for the welcome and the warning. I think the lack of personal boundaries part is going to be difficult for me.
Congrats!
We got that question a few times with DD... and honestly it was the same answer as you "A little of both". We decided we were ready to try, then found out about a week later that I had already gotten pregnant. I didn't really find the question offensive.
This time people knew we were trying for a while so nobody has asked.
I would say something wildly inappropriate like, to be honest we didnt think we could get pregnant from anal sex so it shocked the shiit out of us. But...that might not work for you.

That. Is. Awesome.
I got that question a lot and was surprised by it. My answer was always "does it matter?"
Congrats!!
