1st B-day Guest List Count

I just put the guest list together for DD's birthday party...81 people!  81!!!!!

That is just our immediately aunts & uncles & cousins. Indifferent  There is literally no way for us to cut it down either.  I'm praying most of the cousins who are in their late teens and early 20's RSVP no.

  • Yeah I think ours is going to be big.  I would like to do it at home but not sure if we can fit that many people here.  DH isn't helpful with location ideas either....

I'd like to be able to do it outside somewhere but not sure if that will happen.

We're definitely doing it at home.  I think we've come to an agreement that our aunts & uncles need to go.

  • We are inviting 113 so far with 15 more possible invites.  We have huge families to begin.  We are only inviting our 1st aunts/uncles/cousins.  We are inviting our closest friends and then my mommy friends I've made since having DD.  Our parties are all or nothing.  We do big for 1sts, and then do immediate for all others and then potentially a friend party for DD this year, too.  Luckily, we have a nice size backyard so we can bbq.  We'll probably have a petting zoo/pony rides or a magician since there will be so many kids and they were really bored at DD's party despite having a pool.

  • we're in the 70's. with big families it's hard to cut. plus we have alot of close friends (who i'd rather hang out with to be honest lol!)

  • We are in the 60's with just the immediate and 1st family.  We are inviting some close friends and the neighbors since our yards run into each other and they have lots of kiddos.  I am contemplating a park so I can cut out all of the neighbors and the kids will have more to do.
  • I think we have around 20 including kids. My grandparents live out of the country, DH's are long gone and we both have small families.

  • Uhhh 15-20...most of our family lives out of state.
  • I'm basing the first b-day party guest list on who we invited to his Christening. We ended up having about 55 people at that.I think we are going to invite some of our neighbors too, so closer to 65.  I'm honestly hoping for fewer people. I think since June is a busy time of year with weddings, graduations and such we will have several nos.

Yeah, we have a hall that we've used before in Washington TWP, but was hoping to be able to do something outside.  I was looking at renting the gazebo at Veteran's park but not sure if that will work or not.

  • yep - we are at 67 - which is just 3 shy of our wedding invite list!

  • We're in the same boat if I don't just count by household Embarrassed.  I was originally going to plan two parties, one for family and friends up north and one for just DS' little playgroup friends where we live.  Considering how much of a production it will be up north, I am going to skip the one in our town.

  • Probably around 30-40 people, I haven't done the actual guest list yet.  But we both come from small families, and my husband's entire family lives across the state, so with the exception of his parents, I'm not expecting any of them to come.  so I'm guessing we'll have around 25 people actually there.

  • I just putting counts to the address list and it's 89 people.  That's only inviting locals (and our OOT brothers, knowing they won't come, but I still want them to get an invite).  That's immediate aunts, uncles and cousins for us too, plus close friends.  My guess is that about 50 will actually come.  Some of the cousins that are "too cool" for a kids party may not come (new college kids), and with it being vacation time I'm guessing some won't even be in town/
  • My list consist of 100 people, but I am pretty sure not everyone will show. If I were just to do grandparents and aunts/uncles (of DD) there would be 10 people there, I wanted more than that. Once I left that circle though, I felt I couldn't stop without hurt feelings. I just decided to invite the whole family (both side of mine and his). I know that they will not make it #1 on thier list and I am fine with that, but I didn't want to exclue them.

I will not do this past her first birthday, later birthdays will be immediate family, close friends, her friends.

  • We're inviting about 40. Our families are small, but we want to invite some friends too. And there's no good place to cut it off. Either we cut it to immediate family and have around a dozen people, or we invite 40. And I kind of want a bigger party for his first birthday, so 40 it is and I hope my parents go for it since we're having it at their house!

  • Man, I guess we need to make more friends!  We've only got like 20 people coming.  But my family is in Indiana, and we live near DH's family.  We're having two parties, so I guess we'll have about 50-60 if you count the two parties combined.
