2nd Trimester

First time mom

We are 17 wks pg with our first child and I am completely freaked out! lol   I have several other friends that are pregnant and due about the same time, that have talked about already feeling some movement.  I haven't felt anything that I have noticed, but I am not overly worried, last appt everything was fine with baby.  When did everyone else start noticing movement with their LO and start actually "feeling pregnant"?

Re: First time mom

  • I wouldn't worry. I started feeling movement around 19 weeks and at all appointments he is moving around like crazy. They say its different for everyone and I'm a first time mom as well so I'm not sure what normal is. I have heard a lot of people say they were closer to 24 weeks. And as far as feeling pregnant I haven't started showing much yet and never really got symptoms so some days I still don't feel pregnant.

  • I don't think I started feeling DD move in my last pregnancy until about 19-20 weeks. That's not abnormal. I am still waiting for movement on this pregnancy even though it is my second pregnancy. Everyone is different!

  • I'm a first time mom too and I started feeling flutters around 15 weeks. Nothing constant, just every once in a while. Then I started feeling real movement around 20 weeks. But I, myself, did not feel pregnant until 24 weeks!
  • Im in the same boat.  Im 18 weeks on Wednesday and havent felt my little one yet.  This is my first child too, so its to be expected.  Although I better feel this kid by 20 weeks lol!

  • I was a bit scared around 17-18 weeks because I couldn't start feeling anything major until 20 weeks. But most of the time the baby is moving and you can mistake it for gas bubbles.

Its normal. You're both fine =)

  • I am also a FTM and I when I went to an elective US at 15 weeks, the tech told me that I should feel our LO move any day now-he is measuring a good 2 weeks big and he is pushed real far forward (so I have been showing for a little while now). Sure enough, around the 17th week, I felt the first flutters. I feel him ALL the time now-I wonder if he ever sleeps!? However, I was told it is common to feel LO move around 19-24 weeks on average. So dont be concerned. And even when you first begin to feel LO, movements arent consistent until later in the pregnancy. (That worried me some initially as well).

  • I'm a FTM, too. I felt what I *think* may have been some teeny tiny pokes at around 17-18 weeks, but looking back it could have just been gas.

I didn't really notice movement and "feeling pregnant" until around week 21.

Give it  a couple weeks! I promise that in time that LO will let you know he/she is in there!

  • With DS, I felt flutters that I thought might be baby beginning around 17-18w.  I didn't feel anything that I *knew* was baby until about 21w.

  • I'm a first time mom, too. Im at 19 weeks tomorrow, and the first time I THINK I felt the baby move was maybe a bit after 16 weeks.. its hard to notice at first. I think I mistook it for gas LOL. It starts to get stronger though, and now Im pretty sure that its her in there, punching and kicking me. It feels like a bubble popping, or moving around. As for the feeling pregnant feeling, Im STILL waiting for it to fully hit me. Im scared and nervous too, so maybe I dont wanna fully recognize it until Im in labour LOL.
