Or at least DH did - it's all about the pillow between the legs when lying on your side. I know that some Bumpies have been doing this for weeks, but I only just tried it this weekend. I went to take a nap on Saturday afternoon and DH tucked me in - he had read up on RLP and found that the pillow was supposed to help. So we tried it and OMG - best sleep I've had in months!
I grabbed a small throw pillow from our couch (I find regular bed pillows to be a bit awkward because they are so big) and have been using that. I am shocked at the difference this makes and am kinda sad I didn't try it earlier.
So now I have to ask - am I the only one that was holding out on doing something like this? *hangs head in shame* I have no idea why I was reluctant to try it, but am so glad I did!
And - what else really helps during pregnancy - with sleep or exhaustion, or boob itchyness etc?
Re: I've Perfected Sleep
I've been doing this for months and it really does help. DH is on business in NYC last night and tonight and I stole one more of his pillows (I slept with 5 pillows last night--one which is a body pillow) and even though I find sleeping without him at home difficult I got a decent night's sleep. having a pllow between your legs and under your belly and to support your back are all wonderful!
I am going to try some tylenol PM tonight so I don't wake up every hour and will hopefully wake up nice and rested.
Keep the room cool. I find I wake up when I am too hot.
I have the tichyness too even though my skin is not dry (I figure it is them growing) I use Jergens baby oil cream lotion (it is awesome).
Yesterday my mom made me sit with my feet above my heart most of the day (since I have some extreme swelling) and it di the trick they were not swollen when I went to bed (the first time in a month).
Oh and if you have started snoring--breathe right strips are good too!
This :-(
This :-(. As soon as I think I find a solution, the next night doesn't work.
DH bought me the snoogle pillow for xmas and I feel so bad that I absolutely hate it. What works for me is our small decorative pillows, one between the legs just below my knees and one under my belly. Don't get me wrong I somehow end up on my back hugging the belly pillow but I sleep great.
As for itchness, I haven't been bother with that. Before my belly even started to get big I bought dry skin cream, cheap too. As soon as I get out of the shower I put cream all over my belly, legs, arms and boobs too. I then put my bathrobe on and let the cream soak in while I put my makeup on and by the time I put my cloths on its all soaked in. My hands are the thing that are really dry on me, I think that is because I am constantly washing them.
A pillow between my knees, a squishy pillow against/under my belly, and my pillow that I always sleep on.
There's barely room for MH, but I'm sleeping pretty ok and not waking up in lots of pain. I started with the pillow between my knees when my hips went nuts.
