PP healing question

It's been 9 weeks since AJ was born and I still feel sore. People on my BMB were talking about how they are DTD and I cringe at the thought! I don't know if it's normal to feel soooo sore for this long or if I just happen to be lucky :(

I had an episiotomy and I also had internal tearing so maybe that's why? For ladies who had an episiotomy did you find the healing process to take longer and how long did it take until you started feeling normal again?

I had tears and took forever to feel ok again. What you are going through is totally normal. I am still uncomfortable having sex but it gotten much better and took forever long.

With my son I had a third degree tear and episiotomy.... I was very much wanting to DTD, but recovery to really feel up to it took longer than the 6 weeks I was out of commission. Not to disappoint you but the first few times were horrible (felt very paranoid and was just not comfortable - reminded me of my age of innocence) and from breastfeeding I was very dry so I strongly suggest some lube.... I am not yet there this time, so hopefully not as bad

I also had internal tearing and I still sometimes get some soreness and I'm almost 13 wks pp. And DTD is still not very comfortable for me. It has gotten a lot better though. Hang in there, things will improve.

I didn't have an episiotomy but I did tear internally and back. DH and I waited a long time to DTD again because I was so sore.

Unfortunately, I still don't feel normal. Then again, I'm sure if I would have sex more often, the process would be quicker.

Eek wow I'm so surprised to hear from ladies 5 and 6 months and still sore :( My poor DH we haven't DTD since I was maybe 6 weeks preggo. First I was too nervous while preggo and now I'm too sore and absolutely terrified! Thanks for the lube suggestion, I honestly would not have thought of that. Glad to know its normal I guess :(

I did not tear, but I had an episiotomy. I felt normal very quickly...like less than 2 weeks. I was not sore at all when we finally DTD after my 6 week check-up. BUT I will say that I think I was lucky. I have a friend who delivered one month before me and she had internal tearing and ended up having to have corrective surgery b/c things didn't heal properly. If it persists - say another month or so - I would go back to the OB and check stuff out.

I had a 3rd degree tear with DD, and was sore for almost 7 months. Let me clarify, not sore all the time, just sometimes I would feel pressure or discomfort several times per week. Sometimes enough where I'd have to sit down & wait for it to go away. It typically happened if I was on my feet for a long time. When I went for my annual exam, I mentioned it to my dr, who gave me some estrogen cream to use which seemed to help.
