Broke down. . . wearing a girdle

Ok, well support underwear or whatever you want to call it. They're like bike shorts that go halfway up your stomach. I was bulging out of all my clothes. I guess it's like a poor man's bella band, but hopefully it will get me through the week without having to buy real maternity clothes!

I adore those.  Being a fat girl, I have pretty much a lifetime supply of Spanx. LOL  Frankly, they're fabulous.  Welcome to the dark side. ;)

  • I don't know how you're doing it. I was wearing panty hose the other day that I had to take off mid morning because they hurt.

  • I went to the Motherhood Maternity store about a week or so ago- and man are maternity clothes expensive!!  I was told that Sears and Macy's have clothes too - same items at lower cost but haven't checked it out yet.  It's weird being in the in between stage.
  • Baha aren't they fabulous!?!  I wear all kinds of vintage pieces and which makes me more retro and less vain.  Also I went to old navy and bought all kinds of empire waist dresses instead of maternity wear.  It is SO much cheaper!  I got 5 dresses and 2 cardigans for less than $100.  I feel like the most comfy pregnant girl in the world!

Also, check out Penny's, Kohl's, and Old Navy. Old Navy always has sales! Motherhood is a rip off if you don't go during their BOGO sale.

If you have good thrift stores in your area, and it isn't a problem for you to buy gently used clothes, those are a good bet too. We have Value Village, Goodwill, St. Vincent Da Paul, etc. here and I know a bunch of people that have made some major scores at those places.

Yes! All of this. I found a pair of Oh Baby brand maternity jeans by Motherhood at Kohl's on Saturday for $40 and then I had a 20% off. I wore them yesterday and have them on again today. Let me tll you, they are heaven!  You can find some good deals here and there for sure.

I'm jealous of all you skinny biches maternity options. LOL  Motherhood Maternity is the only place in town I'm allowed to be fat *and* pregnant at the same time.  I can be fat or I can be pregnant pretty much anywhere.  But apparently fat people don't get laid often enough to warrant stocking fat girl maternity clothes. ;) LOL

    I LOVE Old Navy!

Ross Dress for Less also has maternity. I got a pair of jeans there the other day for $12...

  • I should start looking into some other options....even my looser shirts are starting to give me away. Okay, I guess I should rephrase that. To me, they give me away. To others, I just look like I'm trying to fit into skinny-girl clothes.

  • Thanks everyone, I am feeling better about it now.

I also remembered that my size 6 non-pregnant matron of honor at my wedding this winter wore a girdle, granted the bridesmaids dresses were pretty fitted and silk organza very unforgiving. So yeah, even the skinny chicks wear them and damn I'm pregnant so I've got an excuse. :-)

Mrs. Ike, I'm fat and pregnant too!  I feel your pain.  I found JCPenny has some plus size maternity clothes online.  I bought some shirts from there and Motherhood, and I like the way the JCPenny shirts fit much better.  It's worth a look!
