If all goes according to plan I will be delivering at the birth center, after delivery at some stage I will move to the hospital.
They suggest bringing snacks and stuff for labor and also a meal for after the birth. I hadn't even thought of this since once we are in the hospital they provide meals, but the birth center doesn't. They have a kitchen though.
Suggestions?! I have absolutely no idea what I'll feel like eating after I push a watermelon out of me, but I can only imagine I'll be starving since I won't have eaten in a long time and I'll have just completed the longest and hardest workout of my life.
I was thinking I'll just bring bread and have hubby make me toast, but what if I am ravenous and want a proper meal?
oh the things I am worrying about now that I am getting close...
Re: Meal for after birth
I am going to make my sister bring me a club sandwich when she comes up to visit. I have been dreaming about that club sandwich for months!
eta: I'll be at the hospital too, and apparently their food is pretty good, but I really want the sandwich. lol. I guess if the restaurant isn't open, I'll just order something from the cafeteria.
If that weren't an option, I'd just bring something easy.. like sandwich fixings!
If they're still open, my mom is picking up food for DH and I at my favorite local sushi place. If it's later at night and the sushi place is closed, we'll have pizza delivered (our only delivery option in my town). If it's too late for that, my hospital has sandwiches for middle-of-the-night moms.
ETA: Sorry, that didn't answer your question at all ha. I would bring something easy like sandwich stuff and if you decide you want something bigger or have the time for it, have something delivered.
When I had DD the nurses brought me a menu to order from the hospital with the expectation that I would have her in the middle of the night and be hungry afterwards, and that they would fridge it for me until I was out of labor and ready to eat.
In the end I got a lobster roll (we're in Maine) and pretty much forgot all about it once DD arrived. I ate it anyway because, I mean, come on, you don't say no to a lobster roll, but was I starving? No, not really. I was too high on adrenaline to care about eating. The NEXT day however, was different.

oh I didn't even think of that, I can just have food delivered, or have my MIL bring me what I am in the mood for depending on the time of day! Oh that is much better!
Thanks all!
Ditto this. I thought I would be excited to eat, but I really couldn't care less.
