help... dry and itchy breasts

Is anyone else going through this?  My stomach rarely itches me from the stretching, but my breasts sure are.  I called my doctor before and he said its perfectly normal.  He instructed me to keep them moisturized.

Is there anything else that I can do aside from putting lotion on them to keep them from getting dry?  They have been itching a lot more lately.

  • dont wash them with soap.
  • I moisturize like crazy, but it doesn't seem to help. I use hydrocortisone cream when the itching is unbearable!
  • I'm in the same boat.  I found Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula, for Dry Itchy Skin at babies R us the other day.  It is a soothing oil that you spray on after you shower.  It can also be used on dry skin.  I found that after about a week of using it my itching was down.  Still not gone, but much better!  I also use regular cocoa butter cream on them before bed!
  • Vasoline has a new moisturizing lotion (white bottle) that is supposed to be an OTC prescription type formula.  I have been using it and it has worked great for me.
  • Thanks for all of the great suggestions... I am going to have to look into getting some of that Palmers oil.

     Is the oil expensive?

  • I use the palmers cocoa butter once a day in the am, and they don't itch at all.
  • I"m using Curel Motherhood and Pregnancy and it is just the best.  Better than Palmers and smells much better too.  I found mine at Target, Kroger, and WalMart.  My skin has never felt so smooth.

I think it was 6-7 bucks.  not too bad!
