Starting shopping

My friend (who has a 1 year old) and I went to this consignment sale this morning.  I have been very good about not really buy stuff, but I couldn't resist myself.  I bought a snow suit, a bunch of onsies, an outfit and a 3 in 1 play gym/exersaucer.  Everything was like $100.   I think the flood gates have opened.  Any one else start shopping?

I've started buying wipes and bath soap for the little one. I figure it's stuff we are going to have to use this for a long time, so every time I go to the store, I buy a thing of wipes and a thing of soap. Hopefully that stuff doesn't go bad.

I also bought a ton of other stuff from a lady who was getting rid of all of her baby stuff, the stroller, car seat, swing, bassinet, and a handful of other things that are big items. I'm kinda regretting that purchase because I'm being picky and have decided I don't want the stroller and the car seat...I want to pick my own....if that makes sense.

I will not do any shopping until after my shower. This is a first grandchild for both sets of parents and first great grandchild for my husbands grandfather and niece/nephew for my three siblings. I know that people want to help us, so I am going to let them and then see what else we need.

As a second time Mom, this is smart IF you have a good size family and people who can afford to buy all the big stuff. I did the same for #1 and we got all the big stuff and gift cards to cover the rest.  :)  This time around, I'm using the same stuff, but clothes will all be new because of season change...so I'm waiting only until May when we find out to start stocking up.  I do need a new pack-n-play though and a bouncer.  So I'm not sure when we'll buy those.

I haven't bought anything for baby yet but I did go maternity clothes shopping today. I got alot at target, a few tops jeans capris and two dresses that were non maternity but flows. I'm not really showing yet but my jeans are getting tight. I stuffed my sweatshirt underneath the shirts in a ball to see how much room they would have with a bump! Hahaha

Oh and I got nursing bras

I only bought a snow ''pouch'' because it was on sale and it was too good to pass up.  I'm waiting until I know what the gender is so I can buy clothes on sale this year for next year.

I'm also waiting for the shower to buy other things because this is our first baby and there hasn't been a first baby in the family for around 7 years.  This child will be spoiled.

I have not bought one thing yet. I am waiting until at least 20 weeks, just so I know that I will have a baby at the end of my pregnancy (I know that women still lose babies after 20 weeks, but it's halfway, and it's more likely that I will have a baby).

Ditto.  Maybe it's because I've had a previous loss, but it seems crazy to me to be buying anything now.

I have not bought anything for baby yet, but I did buy some maternity clothes b/c a store was closing ad everything was 70 percent off (5 pairs of pants for 46 bucks!!) I'll start shopping for baby after our ultrasound at 19/20 weeks :)

I have started buying maternity clothes, I had some from my first pregnancy that ended in mc. And bought some more with my mom in the past 2 weeks and they were all pretty much a good deal. So I almost have a full wardrobe just a couple more summer dresses and I should be good.

I have some baby items, a couple too cute outfits and a blanket or two, and I just got a new baby kaed diaper bag from my mom.  Plus my SIL gave us some "hand me downs" from her three children, which include a very nice crib and dresser set, and a tripp trapp high chair.

We are starting to shop for strollers, since it will be our most expensive purchase, and there are so many brands out there. But I think I found it (Uppababy Vista 2012) so now we are waiting til we get a little closer to just go ahead and purchase it, So yes you could totally say the floodgates are open at our house.

I understand waiting to buy but for me I just have to stay positive about this pregnancy, and do not want to plan for worst case scenario, I just want to be happy , and if the worst should occur it would hurt no matter what things I had in my house, so I choose not to think like that.  But I do understand it is a totally personal decision.
