Baby Bath Toys

DD is now taking a bath on her own in the regular tub and she has a bunch of rubber toys she loves to play with.  How does everyone store them between baths?  And do you clean them before each bath?  Just curious because playing with them mostly involves chewing on them, and I'm concerned that they'll collect mildew or bacteria between baths.  Thoughts?  TIA!

Re: Baby Bath Toys

  • Mine are stored in a hanging mesh bag.

As for cleaning, they do get pretty dry just hanging so I'm not too worried. Once in awhile when I clean the tub I fill it to soak the bottom and I'll dump the toys in.

Otherwise, I just make sure I get the water squeezed out as best I can before bath. I haven't had too much issue with it actually. A little slime never hurt anyone. :)

  • We have a bunch of the squeezable toys ducks included.  I'm not concerned about mold, when they get icky I'll toss them and get more.  They're cheapie dollar store toys.  I need a mesh bag for storage but for now I squeeze out the water and put them on a self in the tub.

  • Oooh, I like the mesh bag idea, then the water can drain off them AND I'm not tripping all over them when I get a shower.  Thank you!!

  • I rinse them after each bath and toss them in the dishwasher every now & then.

This!  And I keep all of the bath toys in a mesh bag that I bought at Target.
