  • I found the book called "Our Stories of Miscarriage: Healing With Words" by Rache Faldet and Karen Fitton to be very helpful.  They are real stories written by real women (and some men) and their words really do hit home.  I found it hard finishing the last story because I didn't want to come to terms with the book being over.  Amazon sells some used copies for $.01.

  • I went to my library the other day for books on the topic, but the only one I found is called Pregnancy After A Loss by Carol Cirulli Lanham.  I know that it might be of no help right now, since it's mainly about a subsequent pregnancy, however it does have a section on searching for answers as to why it occurred and a section on trying again.  I plan to read the first couple chapters since they apply to me right now, and then pick it up again when I need it in the future hopefully!

  • Hi there,

I mainly lurk here so sorry to bump in on a post, but I'm hoping these might be helpful to you --

Heaven is for Real - has a small chapter dealing with miscarriage that I found very comforting, especially if you are religious.

Conquering Infertility -  My friend lent me this book after our loss.  It has some good advice for ways to deal with the stress of TTCAL, but what I found most comforting was reading the stories of women mixed in to each chapter.

  • The only one of I have read is mentioned by a PP entitled "I'll Hold You In Heaven". If you aren't religious it probably won't be your cup of tea, but if you are it is a good one!

  • I bought About What Was Lost, which is 20 different writers on their miscarriages, and Pregnancy After A Loss. I have skimmed them both, but haven't read them completely. I also ordered Trying Again: A Guide to Pregnancy After Miscarriage, but it hasn't arrived yet. Those three were the most recommended ones I read about.

  • I'm reading one called "What Was Lost" by Elise Barrett.  She's a United Methodist pastor who went through this and the book is recent.  It deals a lot with spiritual/Christian questions and aspects, so I'd recommend it primarily to that audience, but it doesn't focus only on that side of things.  She writes with an honest and empathetic voice and I especially like the sections on dealing with conversations about it with others and on talking with God and experiencing your emotions.
  • Thank you ALL for posting your suggestions. I'm going to look into all of these later. ((hugs))
