I know there are weight and length limits for when you technically have to switch, but I just wondered when it becomes more logistically difficult to try and use the infant car seat. I was thinking of getting a second base for DH's car, but if it becomes cumbersome to use this seat at 6 months, it's not really worth the cost. If we can use for up to a year (our guy is little, so I think he will definitely fit in it height and weight-wise), then it would be worth the investment. Anyone with any advice/experience on this?

DD1 was in it until about 10 months. She was always petite, so size wasn't an issue and she could've used it longer. In fact, our Maxi Cosi infant seat has s 22lb weight limit, and my 20-month DD is only 22.5 lbs! I stopped carrying her around in it at about 5/6 months...it was easier to put her in a cart or directly into the stroller. Once she could sit up and pull up and such, she was really uncooperative about being restricted anyway.
DD2 is much longer...I'm thinking we will have to move her sooner. We will get another Britax Boulevard for her, since DD1 is still in hers and still RF.
