So I have been running for a few years, when I had my son 18 months ago I started up again when he was about 6 weeks old & worked my way up slowly to about 5-8km 4-6 times a week. I took a break over the summer (absolutely hate the heat) and have been back at it pretty steady and going further since the beginning of February (5-10km) 4-6 times per week. I was feeling SO good!! Strong, energetic, no aches that were abnormal. The past two weeks I have just felt out of sorts when I run, like my coordination is off, my legs feel heavy & I don't feel like I'm hitting the pavement properly. I took a week off & went back out today, and again it wasn't until about 25min in that I started to feel good about it.
My shoes aren't too old, about 200km in & I mostly run on the road & trails. I eat fairly well, a lot of lean protein, enough carbs, drink tons of water. I am NOT pregnant, (I didn't just get my period so I want to blame this on that). I do strength training as well at home with weights, and always stretch at least 5min post run.
Any ideas? I want to feel good about it again because this funky feeling is making it hard to get out there! We want to TTC soon & I want to be in a good routine prior so that I can attempt to maintain it to some degree.
Thanks in advance
Re: Why do I feel so weak?!
Maybe it's time to go to the doc - have you done your annual blood work? Maybe your iron is a little off?
