Flat head

My baby was born with plagiocephaly and i feel like the flat head is only getting worse.  We try to practice tummy time and hold him a lot but i'm still paranoid about it getting worse, plus I'd like it get better!  Anyone used any of the products out there for preventing this?  I'd really like to avoid going as far as to get a helmet down the road.

Re: Flat head

  • I know a lot of people who used this product for their baby and so I did also and i can honestly say my baby has a perfect little round head!  A friend of mine also used it for her baby who was born with plagiocephaly and it helped to correct it. https://www.myangelsguardian.com/index.html

  • Wonder if this was meant for 1/2012....at this point our children's heads I think can't be molded.
  • I assumed it was spam...

  • Looks like spam to me. Random poster replied to random poster within 2 minutes with a product suggestion.

  • Hi

My little boy got flat head.  I used a flat head pillow which was excellent and also a sleep positioner as he always lay with his head facing the same way.  I also did lots of repositioning techniques.  I noticed it at about three months and within two to three months it had completely rounded out with doing the above.

I know it was completely due to what I did rather than it naturally correcting as he had an abnormally large head compared to his body size and very weak neck muscles so even at 12months could barely hold his head unsupported and we had to support his head like a newborn so he did not spend any less time on his back whilst his head rounded out.  The flat head pillow meant that even though he lay with his head facing the same way all the time that it took the pressure off and gave it chance to round out.

Have a look at https://babyflathead.co.uk.  It has lots of useful information on baby flat head, which is not publicised enough by the NHS.  It also has advice on which flat head pillow and sleep positioner to get, as they vary a lot

    Hope this helps
