I feel like there is no way my teenage daughter would get out of the house in some of these banned looks! I do feel like parents should be playing more of a role in this situation. I think it is sad that the schools have to prohibit certain dresses, it is the parent's job to make sure their daughters don't leave for prom looking like street walkers!
Thoughts?
Re: Sexy Prom Dresses!
I have a 18 year old SIL who is going to prom this year. My MIL approved and payed for her dress, which I would say is NO better than any of these.
It is a long dress, but that is about all that is conservative about it. Her nipples look like they are barely covered, she is busting out of it so much. I am not a prude by any means, but I think parents should really be more strict in this matter.
You would also love the clothes she wears all the time, daisy dukes, low cut tops, etc. She wears them to school too! Back in my day, we would be sent home for wearing that!
I thank my lucky stars that the kids at my school wear uniforms!
Except for those dress down days that pop up once a month or so... the first one once the weather gets warm is always entertaining!
I am with you 100%. That was the first thing I thought- these look like something a 21 year old would wear to some skanky bar. Oh, how I hope Lena is like her mother and would never even think of wearing such things.
I wore a uniform in middle school and I loved it. I actually wish public schools would break down and start using uniforms. It would make this issue so much easier as a parent.
OMG, DD will be wearing a nun's costume to prom before she is allowed to wear anything like that out of our house. I don't even want to image how revealing clothing will be by the time DD is ready for a dance or prom, good heavens, this is how bad it has gotten in the 13 years since I graduated high school, how bad will it be in 13 years when our LO's are going to homecoming dances and etc.
Mom's of boys, be glad, but make sure to teach them that clothing like that is not appropriate on women, it belittles them, and then it'll make our jobs easier
