child locks

Sorry I'm being such a PW this week - but this one is short at least!

We have a china cabinet with doors at the bottom - they are single doors so you can't link a child lock through the door knobs. DD can open it and she wants to play with the ceramic bowls and stuff. We have some of these:

BUT we weren't eager to drill into the piece to keep her from opening the doors. Has anyone heard of stick on door locks? Do they work? Any other ideas?

Re: child locks

  • I think everyone is glad to see extra posts, keep them coming!

I have no advice. My LO can master, ANY child lock, even those dang door knob ones. So annoying. lol Good luck!

  • I will tell you - we used these on our china cabinet and my DH ruined the outside of the cabinet door by drilling too far. I'd definitely try one of those magnetic/stick on ones first (not sure if those work but you can't undo what my DH did so that makes me hesitant to say ah, just go with it!)
  • We got some of these at the baby shower...

They work great.  It says the adhesive comes off clean but I haven't tried removing them yet.

ETA: Also, they are not on a cabinet that I get into frequently so I'm not sure about durability if you get into the cabinet daily.

  • Our cabinets are singles under drawers. We loop a thick rubber band around the edge of the drawer face, twist, and then loop around the knob pull. No clue if yuo have a drawer nearby or a knob--but I thought I'd mention it.
