Hi, I have PCOS too.  I don't really have any tips or success stories as I was recently diagnosed but I wanted to wish you good luck.

Pcos.tv seems to be a pretty good website.  What works seems to vary person to person.   Good luck!

Well, thank you! If you don't mind me asking, did they put you on any medications for it?

I started with Metformin, which did nothing for me, and then added clomid.  Still no luck, we have our next meeting this coming week.  Lots of people have success with just metformin or just clomid, but there are many that end up doing IUI or IVF.  I have three sisters who also have it.  One had "luck" after three years ttc with no meds, another was able to get pg with clomid for her first but then later had to move to IVF, and the other only IVF worked.  So it seems to vary from person to person.

Hey! I spent most of my life with a PCOS diagnosis. I recently went to an endocrinologist and was told that I didn't have PCOS. I am now undergoing a battery of tests and being tested for all kinds of genetic disorders. The one thing that my endocrinologist did that a doctor never asked, was to measure my clitoris. (Sorry, TMI!) Mine is slightly enlarged, which is not a symptom of PCOS, which leads her to believe that I have something else. I was recently tested for Non-Classical Adrenal Hyperplasia. It came back negative, but apparently, there are many disorders that mimic PCOS and are commonly misdiagnosed. Now, she's contacting a national specialist in New York because they have no idea what's wrong with me. :/

I have spent 7 years with the same man and we haven't ever really used protection. I've never gotten pregnant. Until December 2011 while I was taking dexamethasone to reduce my male hormone levels. I was diagnosed with a blighted ovum in February and miscarried naturally soon after.

It's hard to watch him go through this with me when you feel like you're the one to blame. I sometimes think he should just leave me and find one of those women who are blessed with the gift of saying, "I want to get pregnant this month!" and just having it happen.

It always seems like the women who want it the most...the ones who deserve it the most...we have to work the hardest and are often left with broken hearts.

I have the utmost respect and love for all of you and I wish you the greatest of luck and love and send tons and tons and tons of baby dust your ways!

Hello and welcome! I have PCOS, too. I have been on metformin and tried a few cycles of clomid, but did not ovulate on any of them. I'm kinda on break right now until I meet with my RE to see what we do next.

In the past I wondered the same as you and posted on the SAIF board. They were very nice and I got to hear 1. the diff treatments girls used that helped them get PG and 2. you CAN get PG with PCOS. It put my mind at ease at the time. Good Luck to you!

    Hi and Welcome.

I have PCOS and have been through it all. We started TTC with a RE knowing we had a problem. We both got the proper testing done and moved forward with Clomid. That is usually the first step but it all depends on your diagnosis. We have no male factor, just me. So i started with clomid and had no response to that. Then moved to injects and over responded to that and found out we need IVF. I had a lap done before my first IVF to ensure the ute was nice and clean and ready to accept babies. First IVF I got pregnant and miscarried, Second IVF got pregnant and miscarried. I am now on metformin 2000mgs a day, have been on a diet and losing weight (south beach low carb low sugar), have found a new dr and been through much more extensive testing. We are unsure of the causes of the miscarriages but think my weight and pcos are to blame. The statistics I have found scared the crap out of me. Hoping IVF#3 does the trick. Best of luck to you! There are lots of women here with PCOS so im sure you will get lots of feedback. GL

ETA: This probably isnt a good place to get success stories, but you will get lots of ttc advice with pcos. For success stories check out PAIF (pregnant after IF) or SAIF (Success after IF). =)
