I know many people probably love the Duggar's but I am one person that doesn't. Yes, I am sorry they lost their child and I wouldn't wish that on anyone but I think its irresponsible to have that many children when so many children are orphans and could benefit greatly from being brought into such a loving home such as theirs.

Re: Overpopulation is a lie?
Big thumbs up!
I don't like them, I wouldn't wish their loss on anyone, I think it is irresponsible to say that we have not overpopulated the world.
I was hesitant to post the story when I heard it earlier this week because I knew so many people loved them.
I pretty much agree with this. Losing a child is always sad no matter who it happens to, and I do feel sorry for her there, but to say that the world isn't overpopulated? Earth just doesn't have the resources to support the exponential growth we are experiencing in some parts of the world.
Edit: Also, her voice totally creeps me out.
I am sorry for her loss but I would agree with pp that she is creepy. As for overpopulation, you can look at our meat supply and the hormones used to raise animals quicker as a sign of population growth. I sell raw goods to leather finishers/rendering plants (and on a hot day, whew, the stench is awful) and I have seen a significant increase due to kill being at an all time high.
Loss happens and it is devastating, but I can assure you that the two issues are not tied to each other.
This is one reason why I am a transitioning vegan...waiting to make the complete leap until after pregnancy.
Haha I must have missed this post earlier - DH's dad/family believes the same thing (they are incredibly religious), and told me so when my hubby and I started dating. (I'm a biologist, and had SUCH a hard time keeping my mouth shut and a straight face!!) He told me that in Texas, they found dinosaur footprints next to wagon tracks, which is all the proof he needs. His family also believes that it doesn't take thousands of years for coal to develop, and that it's a conspiracy to make society believe that it's not a renewable resource - why you ask? Because coal miners found a civil war sword in a ream of coal! HAHAHAHAHA!
Thankfully, DH thinks he's a nut... one of the many reasons we don't have a thing to do with his fam! Sorry for the long post, I just had to share because this made my day!
I am the youngest of 10 children and have been told before that my parents are irresponsible for having so many children. My father is an ER physician and my mother has a master's degree in social work. I do not believe the world is over populated, but I do believe people in this country and other developed countries use WAY too much of the world's resources. My parents grew up out west and thought when they moved east that everyone would be crammed in wall to wall. It's just not true.
I am sorry the Duggars lost their baby, but I hope they take this (and the prematurity of their last baby) as a sign that it is time to stop. She is way too old to be having kids. My mom was almost 40 when I was born and that was pushing it. I do, however, think that the Duggars are EXTREMELY responsible when it comes to using resources wisely and that we could all learn from them in that respect. The fact that we use hormones to make more meat does not mean that the world is over populated... it just means Americans are greedy.
