twins

Anyone here a twin?

I REALLY want twins.  REALLY.  I wish there was a button I could push that would make my next pregnancy twins.

I am a fraternal twin so I have a higher chance than usual, but not a guarantee (obviously).

Some nights when LO wakes 5 times....I think I am nuts for wanting twins.  :-)

Does anyone else want twins?

Re: twins

  • I used to, but now I've come to the conclusion that if I was going to have them, I would've wanted to have them first so I wouldn't know any different.

  • no thank you!! Twins are cute, but I also know it is a ton of work. I can barely handle 1 baby waking up at night! I cant imagine 2!

  • Hello to the no.

I used to think twins would be awesome. They are cute, you get two out of one pregnancy, etc.

Then I was "blessed" with a very high needs child. I would check myself into the nuthoyse if I had to deal with two of DD.

I now look at twin/triplet mommas and think "you poor woman. May god have mercy on your soul" (I would never say it out loud to them, but ever since DD came into our lives, I think that).

  • my whole family is expecting twins out of someone since there are a lot of twins in the older generations. as of now, know one has had them and not expecting.

i dreamed of twins when i was pregnant. at one of my late ultrasounds a tech asked if i was having twins. i said no, and she said, 'oh okay.' i asked why she asked and she said, 'well i saw something but i guess not.' i got really excited thinking the early scans had missed another baby.

but like a pp said, my ds is a little high maintenance and i just don't know how i'd manage with two. we go out a lot and i wonder how the hizz moms of twins do it!

strong women to say the least!

  • My sister has twins.  They are great in theory, but a TON more work than a singleton.  My first question at my first ultrasound was "Are you sure there is just one??" followed by a sigh of relief.
  • No, I would cry. I mean, sure they are beyond adorable, but I know myself, and I know I could not reasonably handle it. Some people can though, and more power to them. I admire anyone who can take care of more than one kid at a time!
  • No thanks! I always thought I wanted them but I babysit someone the same age as my lo and mine at the same time and I changed my mind. I'd rather give all my attention to both babies. And I couldn't imagine breastfeeding two at the same time and I'd imagine I'd have to stay home and I will never get back to work like I planned.

  • I love the idea of them, esp boy/girl twins, they're too too cute.  I think in reality tho I'd lose my mind after a day.

  • I secretly wanted twins! We did IUI to get pregnant with DD, so we had a chance of multiples, albeit a slim chance (I knew I only had one mature follicle when I triggered). But also agree that it would have been perfect the first time around, but probably not my next pregnancy!

    TTC #2

    Clomid 50 mg + IUI#1  = BFP, m/c and D&C at 7w1d

    Clomid 50mg + IUI#2 = BFN

    Clomid 100mg + IUI#3 = BFN

    Lupron + Follistim + IVF#1 = 11ER, 10M, 10F, ET of 1 expanded BBA 5-day blast, 2 Frosties. BFP! Beta 10/13 = 264! Beta 10/15 = 702! EDD 6/21/14

  • This was actually my worst fear when we decided to have a baby. It was crippling. I almost changed my mind out of fear that I'd get pregnant with two. I literally almost had a heart attack when I saw the egg and the yolk sac on the dating ultrasound. I thought it was two eggs. I continued to ask at every appointment if they were positive it was only one. I didn't believe it until my anatomy scan.

With all of that said.... if we'd had twins I would have absolutely kept both and loved them both to pieces. But no.... I would never wish to have twins.

Hi, i don't post much because...well...i have twins! Hehe

My random thoughts: I love them to pieces--they are so much fun! Especially now--they see each other across the room and squeal and go chasing after each other. (love!) And I was blessed with a 39 week uncomplicated pregnancy and delivery. We have one high needs and one super laid back baby--and are just now (thanks to sleep training) down to 2-3 wake ups a night (down from 6-16, not kidding). I'm glad they were first--i cant imagine doing this with others to think about/chase after? So yes, the middle of the nights/sleep deprivation stuff has been so so rough. I guess the work is exponentially more, but so is the fun? :0)

All of this! I love my girls but I never imagined having twins ever! What I thought it would be like is not even close to what it is like!! The first 3-4onths were honestly hell and I actually blocked out already how bad it really was! But like the pp says, now we are having so much fun even though it is still a TON of work! These were number 3&4 so I knew exactly how good I had it with just one! : )

  • I second the hell to the no response.

I've seen my best friend have twins.  They are now 3.5yrs old.

She still has a twitch and she is a scatter brain.  She also picked up smoking.

In dreamland, yes, it would be great! If I had a nanny. 24/7/365.
