We had it done before we came home from the hospital. There really wasnt a difference in his behavior at all. They told us he might not want to eat, and be a little more fussy. But we didnt notice any change.
my son had it done at the hospital, and we didnt see any changes in him at all! just had to maintain it to keep it clean and we would put neosporin on it so it wouldnt stick to the diaper but other than that, everything went great!

My son had it at the hospital as well. He was just really sleepy and didn't eat as much that day because he would rather sleep. They told me that was normal for the day he had it. He was more awake and eager to eat the next day.

This exactly. I was preparing for it to be a lot worse than it actually was.

I don't really have anything new to add. My DS had his done at the hospital the morning after he was born. He was gone from the room for a little while and was sound asleep when he got back. He did miss his next scheduled feeding because he did'nt want to wake up but other than that he was fine. Just gotta keep it clean for a few days. they had us use a little gauze, vaseline, and bacitracin for 5 days afterward. Your nurse should show you how to care for it and if you're nervous afterward ask them to watch you change him. I'm sure you'll both do great.
We had it done the day after he was born at the hospital. It was super quick, the nurse brought him back to our room maybe 15 minutes later. He did want to eat a bit more often that day, but other than that has acted completely normal. I, too, was scared for him and wanted DH to go with him, but my OB said she preferred the parents not come. And he was perfectly fine.
I only have a few things to add. DS had hardly any wet diapers for the 24 hours following his circumcision. I was freaking out because I am BFing and I was concerned that he wasn't getting enough and that's why he wasn't having wet diapers, but the pedi said that sometimes their system can slow down for a day or so after the circ.
Also, the skin started to try to reattach to the head of the penis and our pedi told us we had to pull the skin down a little periodically and put neosporin on it so that it doesn't reattach.
