Anyone know about pinatas??

I was thinking about having a pinata for LO's party.  Yes--I know---he obviously will not be using it--but my 3.5 yr old loves them as do the other LOs that will be there.  BUT a couple that I really like are "pull string"--what the heck is that???

How does a pull string work?  Does just one child control this whole thing?  Do you know if you can still use the old-fashioned whack the living shiz out of it with a stick on a pull string model??

Re: Anyone know about pinatas??

  • I think the pull string is so you can loop the string over something so when the kid goes to whack at it you can pull the pinata by the string and the kid then just whacks air?

    Maybe?

  • We just did this on Saturday for a 4yo birthday party. the "pull string" pinatas are just that. Each kid gets a turn pulling a sting. One of the stings opens the bottom and the treats fall down. You can still whack it though.

  • As PP said u can either whack it or pull the string. We have pinatas in every party. I must say the kids do not enjoy the pinata nearly as much with the string pulling...they seem to enjoy hitting it a lot more

  • I saw one of those at a 3 year old's birthday party.  They let the kids all hit it, and when the kids were starting to lose interest and the pi?ata was still not breaking, all the kids grabbed a string and pulled together to open it up.
