I usually lurk on 3T and IF, but I have a questions about success. We have ONE frozen embryo, which I'm pretty sure is grade BBB (I don't even know if this is good). I was just hoping to hear success stories about single FET...
I just paid for the cycle, and now my husband (who always tells me whatever I want) decides he doesn't think it is worth it. This cost of FET at this RE is extremely comparable to the fresh cycle we did with our original RE, so he thinks we would have a better chance with a fresh... My insurance covers 75% for 3 fresh and 3 frozen cycles, where if you don't use the frozen right after the fesh you lose the coverage....
Looking for words of advice. Thanks!
Re: XP: success with FET?
I had succes with our first FET. We are 100% OOP and FET with our dr is about $10K less than a fresh cycle. It was a no brainer for us.
After 6 long years of TTC and a traumatic birth... I finally got to hold my baby in my arms!

That's exactly what I had, just one sole lone frozen embie. I actually did another fresh cycle vs using it.
I really was not up for a fourth fresh cycle, right away. So i did the sFET. It worked! Good luck!
We did a single FET in January 2012 after our cancelled cyle in November due to "slow growing embryos"...one made it to freeze. I didn't want to have leftover embryos so when I only had one frozen I decided it was worth going ahead with this one...even though it was a "CB" quality...so was definitely skeptical...was even nervous that I'd make it to the transfer room and find out our lone survivor didn't make the thaw...but we found out then that it was already beginning to hatch (which gave me some hope)...
So even though I wasn't confident that we were going to get a BFP...surprise suprise we got one...so it can happen. And like one of the other posters mentioned that even embryologist grading still can't predict which ones make it and which ones don't. I've seen women with perfect quality blasts that get BFN and then you have someone like me with a low grading get a BFP...so you never know...and if insurance will pay 75% you really don't have much to lose by taking a chance.
Best of luck with your decision!
